Jason Nettle

Actor. Teacher. Writer. Director. Professor.

I have spent the past 25 years performing on stage, TV, Film, National and International tours; mastering my technique in classes, auditions, and comedy clubs; shaping my experiences at FOX Broadcasting, Atlantic Theatre Company, and Upright Citizen's Brigade; and have made use of my knowledge and talent as an actor, director, professor, casting director, producer, and stage manager .

My artistic and teaching styles are a pastiche of these experiences. I have a strong acting philosophy of potraying truthful and natural behavior while playing actions towards a partner using moment to moment impulses.

As a professor, I strive to bring out the best of each of my students using my knowledge, compassion, improv training, by using voice and movement work, examples, humor, and previous theories and practices. It is because of my years of experiencing every kind of teaching and medium of performance that makes me a strong attribute to colleges, high schools and their theatre programs.

I aim to bring out the individuality of each student and push them to think further than what's on the page.  I believe in making artists who create, not follow.  Who take chances, not play it safe.  Who can change the landscape, not be told where to go.  Who find their voice, not imitate someone who has found theirs.

"If you are one of his students- YOU ARE SO LUCKY!!!"
